Too Epic for ICC

So, we extended our ID from last week so we could work on LK our first day...If we didn't get him down (which we didn't) we would unextend it and do the rest of the raid on our second day. We got LK to his 3rd phase, but just couldn't do anything more after that. :(

So...we start over, with 3 pugs to fill our raid, and get going. We one shot everything until Blood Princes (our pally lost aggro on the warlock prince and he decided to start one shotting all of us. Fixed that issue and got him down no problem. First attempt at BQ we had two people not get their bites out on the second bite rotation...so...failed on that one, but had no issues on the second time. Ran over to dreamwalker and shit hit the fan...Not sure why we had so many issues...OH WAIT, yes I do! People weren't killing the stupid skellies first, the kiters were backpeddling huntards that kept losing the zombies (who went around and 1shot the healers), and our puggers were horrid dps anyways...We finally lost one of our puggers who wouldn't stop complaining, and we just 24 manned her. One our 3rd attempt we finally healed her up, BUUUUUT...Only 5 of us were alive at the end. I earthsheilded myself, popped a trinket, and healed my little offspec resto ass off and she stood up and killed off all the adds...Oh wait, NO SHE DIDN'T! The freakin worms from 2 aboms were still out, and raped the remaining of us inside. I died right by the door and tried to keep everyone up but those stupid worms hurt! I had 10 minutes on my ahnk and was waiting to get rezed (since I was masterlooter) so I wouldn't have to run back and make people wait...but...everyone got back up there and...

THE DOOR WAS STILL SHUT!

/sigh So...I was like "I can wait for 10m and ahnk, switch back to enhance, and try to kill the group of worms. They said "nah, just release, maybe thats keeping them there". Well...I release...and...Nope, they didn't despawn, and the door didn't open. *everyone opens tickets* So, we all zone out, raid leader resets the instance, and we try going back in. Nope, still closed, worms still in the middle of the room. So, out again...pvp at the entrance (which was hella fun). After 20 minutes, we call the raid so people can leave if they didn't want loot. We had about 8 of us stay in the raid, waiting on a GM. after another 30 minutes someone finally starts talking with a GM. We start hearing all the triggers for all the fights, see mobs pop in and out of exsistence, see aoe effects on the worms...nothing...finally...pretty sure he just got rid of the worms...nothing...door still shut with all of us dancing at it. Finally...he teleports us into her room, I'm able to master loot it and give out what we won. BUT...door is still shut!

The GM finally said, "I'm sorry, I can't get this door open, I have never heard of this happening as well as the other 3 GMs I'm talking to right now. We have sent in a ticket to higher powers to see if they can do anything about it. As far as we know, this is a new bug."

Our epicness broke ICC /sigh

5 days off!

5 days of no WoW. Was a little refreshing actually. I ended up playing lots of League of Legends with the hubby and his friends instead. If you play League of Legends, add me! Summoner Name: Kanarina. If you don't play, YOU SHOULD! It's free and you can download the game at: https://signup.leagueoflegends.com

I did however...enjoy getting back into the swing of things with my most awesomely awesome 10 man ICC group. I have so much fun with them, they make this game worth coming back to, even when I get so bored of it. Even though my lag was insane, and I did over and over due to it, we still joked around about everything, and got a lot accomplished (got an alt and newer character some great heroic gear). I'm so glad I have a guild that keeps this game fun instead of making it feel like a job...

Raid break!

So, I have never missed a 25man raid for this guild. (I know, I'm such a good little raider) I feel weird having a week off. I guess that goes to show that it is starting to be more of a job.

We have 6 of our guys meeting up IRL this week, so we called off our 25 man for a week since we didn't feel like pugging 6 people. I think we could all use a break anyways. We even called our 10man too. Because of this, I ran with some other guildies to try and get them their kingslayer titles. We had to pug our tanks but everyone else was from the guild. Sadly, a couple of them had never been past the first transition, so watching them fail on defiles was a bit frustrating. I guess I'm spoiled running with my group where we just do what we need to do and it's over in no time. Instead, I had to call out 5 seconds on defile, 5 seconds on valks, had to keep telling the hunter to have his pet attack, had to throw out heals (as an enhancement shaman). It was 2 people that seemed to keep fucking up every time! I tried to be as nice as possible in correcting their issues, but sometimes...you just can't correct stupidness.

Blizzard had catered too much to the casual player and they can get gear so easily that they think they can achieve these higher goals in the game...but if they can't handle movement and using their skills and being on the ball, they ruin it for all the people that take the game a little more seriously. And sadly, Cata will probably just make it worse...

Ruby Sanctum

We finally got our 25m Ruby Sanctum finished. We pugged 5 people, but whatever...we got the bitch down. Pugs are so painful, sad how just a couple people can screw up EVERYTHING.

On an up side. We had broken up our 10man ICC group to help get the other group going strong (to allow others to get some heroics and get their LK kill). Sadly, no one seemed interested, so we wasted a good month trying to get other 10mans started and nothing really happened. So...we are getting our group back together and are going to work on finishing our heroics. We were 9/12 and had done a few of the achieves already, so hopefully we can get our mounts pretty soon.

I'm just glad I'll be back raiding with the group again, I really enjoy having a good group of friends (and competent players) that can have fun and still get shit done!

Damn Holiday Weekends!

Some of us don't have lives and like to raid every week! No 25 man this week, which means we are going to drop our extended ID (at LK) and just start over next week. I was hoping for a nice fresh hit on LK. I think getting to him new and fresh would be best. O'well...Guess people still need stuff from the other bosses. I'm just stuck not needing anything until heroic 25m (and like one more heroic 10m item)

Guess its time I start playing alts, or maybe I'll level up my dk finally...haven't played her in months. Should change her to an alchemist, get her to 68, and just farm and then level her so I can make myself flasks...they are getting expensive again since I'm using them in heroic 10m, end 25m, and ruby sanctum. (and I'm a slacker when it comes to doing dailies)

Guess its time to stop being lazy and actually level one of my million alts!

/moo Shirt

I've been slacking and can't believe I haven't put this out there yet! I made my own /moo Tauren t-shirts that I wear everywhere! I have a yellow and pink t-shirt so far :D You can find pictures of me wearing them HERE or, you can even buy your own below!

Lich King Down!

Finally, my 10man downed the Lich King! Ashenleaf the Kingslayer...sounds good I think :P

On a side note, I finally broke 6k gs (cause everyone knows gearscore means everything)...I'm just happy that I'm hitting 11k on fester and saurfang! :D gogo hybrid class beating straight dps classes /flex.

Professor Putricide one shot!

So, we went in this week and one shot Professor Putricide, our first kill of him in our 25 man!

We went on to Dreamwalker after that (who we've downed multiple times already) but just couldn't get her done. We were lacking a few of our core raiders and our dps and experience with the fight seemed to be lacking. We also only had 2 pallies in the dream state as well as me (as resto) and a priest. Normally we will have 3 pallies and me, or 2 pallies and 2 resto shaman. So, our heals were lacking as well. /sigh

Oh well...I'm just happy that PP is down and we can set our ICC25 to 9/12.

In my 10man, we are still on LK. Sadly, our last attempt night, we had 2 of our healers (who live together) have a bad storm, and they started randomly dc'ing after about an hour of attempts. Then eventually dc'd completely and we called the raid. :(

So...still not a kingslayer /sadface

Progression and Promotions

Well, our 10m is at 10/12 at this moment, but in our first night, we did all 10 and will have our entire second night to dedicate to Sindragosa and hopefully a few attempts on the Lich King...Last week, we finished up our 7/12 the first night and spend our entire second night on the Blood Queen. Sadly, we had a few stupid issues that brought us all down as a group. Once we can get the stupid stuff to stop, we'll have her down easy. The guild is going to start an ep minus for people being stupid, extremely late, and random afks (and I'm kinda thankful for it). Our guild isn't a "hardcore" guild per se, but when you have 24 other people that have to wipe because one person was stupid or not listening, its frustrating.

Like today, on our 10man...we had one of our tanks go afk for 15 min...and it frustrated everyone...it isn't that hard to type out..."Oh crap, brb, my sister cut her foot open" or something like that. /sigh

Anyways...thats our progression, now, for promotions. Yeah, thats right, I'm now a counselor for the guild. Every time I join a guild I tell myself "oh, i'm just going to lay low and be a member for once" and every time I end up becoming some kind of leader. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being a leader. When it comes to a guild, I want it to succeed, and whatever I can do to help with that, be it as a member or a leader, I'll do it. So, my main rolls will be watching and helping out the dps, as well as helping with some of the recruiting. I'm excited to help out this guild however possible. It has been one of my favorite guilds I've been a part of so far.

Progression is great!

I mean, who doesn't like progression? Do you scream out "hell yeahs" irl when you down a boss for the first time? Yeah...I do! Our guild has two 10 man ICC groups, my group has been trying to get putricide first because our warlock had a computer issue, and the other group went for the blood princes and queen since they just didn't have the dps to get putricide down in time.

Well, we got Putricide down! It was hella close, our tanks almost exploded (thought they would when we were at 3%) but the wow gods loved us and let them live just long enough to get him down! Vent was flooded with "hells yeahs"! I'll admit...when we hit 5% I was screaming in my house "fucking get him down!" and mashing buttons like a madwoman. This was our second attempt of the night (and had a couple new people in our team even). /flex

After Putricide, we decided to try dreamwalker since I got my resto set up to par with ICC content. So, switched over and got to heal (which...healing is hard work) :P On our third attempt (after switching our heals around a little, me and the druid on raid heals and pally and priest on dreamwalker) it was easy.

We attempted Sindragosa once, but it was late, people were tired, and we already had a huge night...We came back the next night after our 25man to try her a couple more times, but someone had to head to work and we had someone's alt somehow get saved to a different instance after our first wipe...

Our 10man ICC for the guild is now 10/12!

In our 25man, we finally got fester and rot down AND blood princes! /flex at my near 9k dps on fester :D The blood princes were hell a easy, and with our 10man never doing it, I was impressed we got them down so easily in our third attempt.

Our 25man ICC for the guild is now 7/12!

And to think, this guild was only formed a couple months ago! Props to our leaders and amazing members. /cheer to Lost Souls

Everyone Hates Patch Day...

The lag is horrendous and a large share of my add-ons stop working. I use a pretty extensive UI, so when something breaks, I usually have to modify it myself. So Patch Day = Hell Day for me :P

This is my UI as of yesterday, still waiting for my iceHUD to update, and I need to remodify my tidyplates...but all in all, I love this UI :)

Getting gear is so wonderful...

I got 3 pieces of new gear in ICC10 yesterday! Gear makes me a happy cow :P It was only my second time in ICC10, only 5100gs, and still pulled up to 6k dps. I was impressed with myself :) It's also nice to be the only enh shaman in the guild. And to think, she started off as an alt...

Really? 9 people to take out 1 shaman?

So, I was casually farming crystalized fires in WG, since we owned it, and there wasn't anyone there when I flew over. After about 15 min of lonely farming, an alliance mage flew over (on a normal mount) and after seeing me, I figured she'd keep going. I keep killing, then see her killing some of MY fire guys, so I two shot her. She apparently griped and another mage from her guild showed up...killed that one too...oh, killed them both again...Then a hunter from their guild shows up, killed him...

Crap, I didn't have my pvp trinket on...okay, 1 death after fighting 3 of them in a row, no biggie...go back, kill the hunter and both mages again. Then...the motherload...they called in their entire guild apparently :P Total of 9 guildies show up. I bow out and fly away. I can't quite take on 9 ally by myself :P

That group of 3 was stupid enough to allow me to have my wolves up every fight, and I would fight a couple fire guys while I knew they were on their way back so I'd have a full maelstrom up.

On a side note: Who in their right mind makes/joins a guild called "The GOAT" ??

Got my Talbuk but no Nagrand Slam

So, I finally got my Talbuk, and bought all 8 of them. :D I don't however, have Nagrand Slam finished *sighs* I stopped by Halaa as much as I could, and only have a total of 3 kills. No one goes there anymore and it makes me sad...I just can't find the freakin quests that I'm missing :( 85/87 is so close!

Even though I've set the Tan War Talbuk as my main mount, I would still LOVE to get the Dark War Talbuk, but I'll probably need to pay someone to let me kill them 100 times in Halaa for the tokens :D Maybe a trade of I'll let you kill me if you let me kill you, or something.

One of these days...

So, the day before yesterday I bought my T9 helm (last piece) and gemmed/enchanted it...Then, yesterday, I got a slightly better helm drop in hPit. I'm trying to decide if the extremely slight improvement is really worth buying new gems for it. I would lose hit (which I'm already capped on) and gain haste, but only gain like 3 AP and 10 crit rating. Do I really want to spend another 500+ gold to gem/enchant a helm with that little of an improvement?

Decisions Decisions...time to farm some more crusader enchants to sell, I'm poor!

Having a good guild is wonderful.

So, Ashenleaf actually started out as an alt in a Faces of Wow guild for the facesofwow.net site. We would have about 11 people on during peak times there at the creation of the guild, but it ended up dying down as people got mad that it was on a pvp server and what not. I kept my shaman there as well as my husband playing his shaman with me. Now...they are our mains because we love them so much.

We finally left the Faces of Wow guild on Sargeras (but left our alts in it, since it was actually built as an alt guild). Our new guild was looking for an Enh and Resto shaman to fill their raid build, so we were in luck. They have already been running me through the heroics that drop items that I need, as well at my first 10man ToC and 10man ICC. I've gone from 4200gs to 4800gs in 2 days! (and still need the freak'n axe from hFoS that I've been farming for a week) I don't think it exists, I've never seen it, just those stupid throwing daggers! I did get that nice trinket though. They have even helped me grab a few resto pieces for when I want to duel spec.

Yay for having a guild that actually actively helps gear their players :)

Why do whiners roll on PvP servers?

I was in Nagrand farming my Maghar rep and flew over Halaa to see if any alliance were wandering around for an easy kill (still need to kill them for the pvp quest and my Nagrand Slam achievement). Didn't see anyone, but I had to turn in my crystals, or dust, or whatever it is to Halaa. I fly in, and a 70 rogue is attacking a 66 dk, so naturally, I help kill the rogue, turn in my stuff, and fly off to turn in my beads. A couple minutes later, I get a tell from "Unkwon" a lvl 1 belf rogue

Unkwon: You noob, pick on someone your own level
Me: This is a pvp server, maybe you should reroll on a pve one instead
Unkwon: I'm trying to get rep
Me: You don't get rep from halaa
Unkwon: Whatever noob.
Me: And picking on a lvl 66 dk is any better?

Never heard back after that, so I'm sure he logged to get his main (since he was in full BoA gear)...O'well, I was headed to bed anyways.

Why do people roll on PvP servers if they don't like the consequences of it? Sorry, you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Res and get on with your leveling...

I think Blizz allowing you to create both factions on a pvp server was a mistake, now we have to listen to whiners call us noobs when we kill them.

How do people fail as DKs?

I mean, they are so easy to dps...

I'll start out by telling a faildk story from the other day.

My husband and I were on our shaman (at lvl 76) in a random instance. I was dps, he was healer, a warrior tank, a 77 hunter dps, and a 75 faildk dps. I was hitting 1800 dps easy, hunter was hitting 800 (not very good either), and the dk was hitting, are you ready for it...400dps... 400 DPS!!! *sighs* He never used icy touch or plague strike, did a couple death and decays, but only a couple, and pretty much white swung the entire instance. On one of the bosses a leather healing chestpeice dropped, and as shaman, my husband could not need, even though it was better. So he asked if he could have it from whoever got it. Well, the dk got it and refused to give it too him, saying if he needed it, he should have needed. No matter how much everyone in the party tried to explain that a shaman who wears mail can not need on anything but mail. *sigh again*

So, My husband started giving the dk a hard time about his dps, posting recount after fights where my husband (the healer) out dps'd him by 500+ dps...We got to a boss that does a shatter and he told me to go stand by him to kill him, and I said sure :P This dk was being a complete ass and figured we'd make his repair bill more than what he would sell the leather chestpeice for (yes, we are vindictive). So, hubby kept me healed, dk got shattered to death by me (made me feel better) So, we get to the last boss, and we told him to just give my hubby the leather chestpeice and we would stop hasseling him...he voted to kick my hubby out of the party and it passed (the other party members said "crap I thought that was to kick the dk") So, I said, "too bad, because I'm with him" and left the party with a warrior, and two faildps.

So, we jumped into another random, got the same instance and finished it in a 4th the time it took us to get to the last boss with the failgroup...And the dk that was in this new party...used pestilence! I was like "OMG the dk used diseases!" and my husband proclaimed to the group "Thank you so much, you just made my wife's night by using pestilence"

So...I made a dk on my hubby's account to run one of my random alts through some instances. How is it that a lvl 58 dk is doing 400 dps...the same as a lvl 75? It isn't that hard...icy touch/plague strike/blood strike/blood strike...

Ashenleaf hit 80 and Nagrand Slam

Finally! My Shaman hit 80! She was able to get her t9 gloves as she dinged too...so that was handy. Already at over 3200gs and she's hitting 2.5k to 3k in heroics, so I feel I'm doing pretty well for a brand new 80.

So, now that I am 80 and not playing leveling with the hubby anymore, I'm actually playing her more often and trying to get some achievements. I finished hellfire and zangarmarsh quest achievements and moved to Nagrand...OMG! I spent 10 hours yesterday trying to find more nagrand quests! I'm currently at 85/87 and have done the aldor chain from shadowmoon valley, did the "i'm saved" semi-rare quest, both of the mob drop quests, the entire greatmother chain, the "i see dead draenei" chain and the goblin jumper quest line...I don't know what else I'm missing other than 2 consortium quests that you can only do if you are nuetral (and i'm friendly) and the halaa pvp quest for the first time (and that nearly impossible in this day and age). I still have the end of the aldor chain that sends me to shadow labs...but that is still going to leave me one short...

me = not a happy camper

I've decided I'll finish my maghar rep then start on a different zone for the quest achievment and hope something sends me back to nagrand to finish...otherwise this achievement might make me go /emo and /wrist

Remind me to look up Battlegroups before I make an alt!

I am horrible at picking servers and factions that are horrid at pvp *sighs* Sargeras (Shadowburn battlegroup) is horrible for horde out of the 10 av's in total that I've painfully played through, I've won 1, and it was barely (like 30/0 resources). I've done about 15 of wsg and ab, and won 0. I did a couple eots the other day and won them both though.

My Draenei Paladin on Madoran (Ruin battlegroup) was okay for 19s bracket, but 19s bracket is always hit or miss depending on how many lowbies queue. I only queue once I hit 16/26/36/46 etc...but I had 35 wsg tokens by lvl 20, and as holy, I just carried the flag, or let 5 people hit on me while I spam healed myself and the dps took them out. It is sad however when I was nomally highest damage, most KBs, highest healing, and nomally ran at least 2 if not all of the flags (hand of freedom and gift of the naru ftw) Then, I hit the 20s bracket...ouch...losing ABs 0/1600? Not having enough players to play a full AB? Everyone fighting in the middle of wsg, running in one at a time like lemmings? Really? Needless to say I have not won any bgs since I hit 20s bracket and am soon to level out of it. At least I usually hit 20k + healing done in the ABs, I feel like I'm doing a little to help out.

My Draenei Shaman on Scarlet Crusade (Shadowburn battlegroup) is very on and off. One day alliance will win, the next horde. So not too many complaints here.

My Belf Priest on Frostmorne (Bloodlust battlegroup) was leveling through AV since lvl 55ish. I think she's won 1 maybe 2. There are so many 60 twinks that dont upgrade to BC. I did hear that this battlegroup owns as horde for 80s though...so I guess since Alliance can't win 80s, they just twink out for 60s.

I had always rolled on a pvp server, and until late have made characters no an RP and a PvE server...they are so different in atmosphere. Seems that they have more newbies to the game, more gold beggers, more whiners...Not sure why anyone could stand playing on them full-time. Thankfully the 2 that I'm on are only alts, and I spend most of my time is BGs :D

So, next time I make an alt on a friends server, I need to make sure to do a little research on the Battlgroup to see if I'm going to have a painful progression in PvP...

Welcome to Women of WoW

First post! Now isn't that exciting.

A little about myself:

I went to school majoring in graphic design and digital media (focusing on 3d animation) and minoring in illustration, so I'm a bit of an art nut and computer/gaming nerd. I have been since I first started playing Wolfenstein 3d, Quake 1, and Ultima Online.

I have been playing World of Warcraft since beta, and I own and adore my collector edition pets (my zergling pwns your grunty!). I am an alt-a-holic and actually have to delete characters if I want to make any more. I have quit playing multiple times but always find myself coming back. I think my longest time away from WoW was 6 months. And during that time I transfered away my main to my second account because I thought I was shutting down my main one for good...stupid me :P

My main played characters are:

Ashenleaf - 77 Tauren Shaman (enh) on Sargeras
Vysti - 60 Blood Elf Priest (disc/holy) on Frostmourne
Ashlique - 39 Draenei Shaman (enh) on Scarlet Crusade
Ashlique - 21 Draenei Paladin (holy) on Madoran

and masses of other alts all over the place that I jump on to use up rested xp, but don't play very regularly unless given a reason to :)
